<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PLC (planar lightwave circuit) in which a cross loss and a joint loss are restrained and from/to which light can be outputted to/inputted from another PLC. <P>SOLUTION: A plug PLC 200 includes a substrate 201 and a waveguide 205. The waveguide 205 includes a clad 206 on the substrate 201 and a core 207 surrounded by the clad 206. The waveguide 205 has a convex shape projected from the substrate 201. A socket PLC 210 includes a substrate 211, a clad 212 on the substrate, cores 213, 214 surrounded by the clad 212. A socket groove 215 is disposed in a position intercepting the core 213. The core 214 is not intercepted by the socket groove 215. The waveguide 205 is put in the socket groove 215 disposed in the position intercepting the core 213 being one of a plurality of cores so that the core 207 of the waveguide 205 is joined optically to the core 213. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
