PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the permeation of moisture to a ceramic electronic component. SOLUTION: The ceramic electronic component has: a body 1; internal electrodes 2, 3 opposed at a prescribed interval in the body 1; and external electrodes 4, 5 electrically connected to the internal electrodes 2, 3 and provided outside the body 1. The external electrodes 4, 5 comprise resin external electrodes 4a, 5a electrically connected to the internal electrodes 2, 3 and provided in contact with the body 1; and plating electrodes 4b, 5b provided on the outer surface of the resin external electrodes 4a, 5a. Surface parts at sides of the plated electrodes 4b, 5b in the resin external electrodes 4a, 5a provided in the body 1 are essentially non-oxidized deterioration layers. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
