摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of calculating a correction value for appropriately correcting an output of an air fuel ratio sensor in an internal combustion engine provided with the air fuel ratio sensor outputting a value corresponding to air fuel ratio of exhaust gas. SOLUTION: This device monitors change tendency of maximum torque ignition timing MBT provided by changing air fuel ratio (namely combustion speed S) in sequence using a tendency that the maximum torque ignition timing MBT on a curve indicating ignition timing - torque characteristics relation provided under a condition where combustion speed (namely air fuel ratio) is fixed moves to more retarded side as combustion speed S of fuel is larger. A case where the maximum torque ignition timing MBT is moved to the most retarded side is specified as a case where the combustion speed S gets to the maximum. Correction value for correcting output value of the air fuel ratio sensor is calculated based on a degree of difference between air fuel ratio detected in the case and air fuel ratio which is one in the case where the combustion speed S gets to the maximum and which is determined from properties of known fuel.
