PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diesel engine capable of inhibiting fuel used also as lubrication oil from spurting or leaking to the outside of the engine. SOLUTION: The diesel engine (1) comprises a fuel supply path (4) for supplying the fuel from a fuel tank (2) to an oil pan (3) with an electric supply pump (6), a lubrication system fuel supply path (8) for supplying the fuel from the oil pan (3) to an engine lubrication system (7) with a lubrication pump (10), and an injection system fuel supply path (13) for supplying the fuel from the oil pan (3) to an injection system (12) with an injection pump (15). The fuel to the oil pan (3) is supplied only from the fuel tank (2). A head cover (21) installed on a cylinder head part (20) has a part (22) closely contacted with the cylinder head part (20) as a single seal part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
