PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain saving of a power in an energy-saving mode state (standby mode) in a printer apparatus. SOLUTION: The printer apparatus 1 is equipped with both an ASIC part 40 which has both a core block part 50 that controls the apparatus and an I/O block part 60, and a power supply part 30 which has a core power supply part 32 and an I/O power supply part 33. The core block part 50 includes a CPU 51, a power supply mode detecting part 52, and a basic clock generating circuit 53. The I/O block part 60 includes both a PLL circuit 62 which generates a high-order clock signal and an I/O power switch 63. The CPU 51 blocks power supply to the I/O block part 60 by the I/O power switch 63 when detecting the standby mode by the power supply mode detecting part 52, and drives the core block part 50 by a basic clock signal switched from the high-order clock signal by a clock switching part 54. A power consumption of the whole apparatus can be reduced by cutting a power consumption of the ASIC part 40 at the time of the standby mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
