The device has a mowing disk (9) and a conveyor barrel (10) for receiving and conveying stalk of plants. A drive shaft of an angular gear stays in effective connection with an intermediate shaft (14) on a drive side. The mowing disk and the conveyor barrel are connected with one another in such a manner that a coupling device (5) is provided to accelerate the mowing disk and the conveyor barrel temporarily during a start up phase with unequal angular speed. The coupling is formed as automatically switchable fluid turbo coupling, fluid converter, centrifugal clutch or multi-disk coupling. |
