An apparatus for purifying air is provided to control purification automatically according to the contamination of inflow air and improve the efficiency of purification by purifying air inflow into indoor through multi procedures. A main body(10) has an outlet port for outflowing air and an inlet port for inflowing air and washing water is charged at specific depth. A purification unit is separated with the outer surface of a rotation brush at specific interval. A fist air pollution detecting sensor senses contamination level of air inflowing inside of the inlet tube. A second air pollution detecting sensor senses the contamination level of air outflowing outside of the outlet tube. A washing water supply tank supplies washing water to the main body. The main body installs water level detecting sensor for sensing the water level of the washing water and a water level maintaining outlet port.
