PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein an indoor unit of a conventional air conditioner cannot sufficiently secure the suction air volume, since a lower part of a grille and an indoor unit body are not separated and a front suction port cannot suck air from below, even if the grille moves forward. SOLUTION: The indoor unit of this air conditioner has a pair of movable supports joined to a shaft rotating by a driving motor, respectively arranged on both right-left end sides of the indoor unit body, rotatably supporting the grille by installing a shaft part of the grille in a bearing part possessed in an upper part, movable to the front of the indoor unit body by rotation of the shaft and formed in a long shape in the vertical direction, and a catch part arranged in a lower part of these movable supports, engaging with a holding projection part of the grille and holding the grille by the movable supports. When operating the indoor unit, the movable supports move to the front of the indoor unit body by the rotation of the shaft, and move the grille held by the catch part to the front of the indoor unit body, and suck indoor air in the front suction port even from below the front suction port.
