PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood analyzer and blood analysis method that centrifuge the blood, measure the absorbance of the separated plasma, and can detect the boundary position between the plasma and corpuscle under centrifugation. SOLUTION: This blood analyzer has an absorbance measurement section capable of measuring the absorbance in a chamber into which a blood analyte to be centrifuged is injected. The threshold calculated from the previously measured absorbance of the plasma having no contaminant and absorbance of the plasma having contaminant is compared with the absorbance of the plasma obtained by centrifugation.
