PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a towed sonar or the like capable of fixing the azimuth of phasing on a map even if the arrangement of a towed array becomes nonlinear, and moreover capable of identifying the phasing azimuth easily. SOLUTION: Deviation amounts of the positions of receivers 211-21n are measured by compasses 341-34n, and based on the deviation amounts a coordinate calculation circuit 35 calculates coordinates (x1, y1)-(xn, yn) of the receivers 211-21n. Consequently, even if the receivers 211-21n are not located in a line, the positions of the receivers 211-21n are precisely acquired as the coordinates (x1, y1)-(xn, yn). Based on those coordinates (x1, y1)-(xn, yn), a delay amount calculation circuit 36 calculates delay amounts t1-tn so that the receivers 211-21n receive sound waves S1-Sn from specific azimuths, and phasing circuits 371-37n adjust and synchronize the phasesϕ1-ϕn of electric signals s1-sn converted by the receivers 211-21n so that their delay amounts become these amount values t1-tn.
