PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepladder which enables the horizontal checking of a tread (1b) of a rung (1a) as a foothold for a worker and enables it to be easily checked whether or not the stepladder is inclined, not only by sensory visual observation but also by means of measuring instruments, so that the worker can perform work as safely as possible on the stepladder. SOLUTION: Not only the sensory visual observation but also the measuring instruments enable the worker to instantaneously check whether or not the stepladder can be installed in such a manner that the horizontal direction of the tread (1b) of the stepladder is horizontally directed by fixing a level (5) to the rung (1a), and to what degree the stepladder is inclined.
