PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and safely preparing melamine bis(pentaerythrit phosphate)phosphoric acid salt. SOLUTION: The method for preparing melamine bis(pentaerythrit phosphate)phosphoric acid salt comprises first mixing pentaerythrit with diphosphorus pentaoxide in an extruder to perform esterification reaction to form bis(pentaerythrit phosphate)phosphoric acid, then mixing the bis(pentaerythrit phosphate)phosphoric acid with melamine or its derivative in the presence of a solvent to perform ammonium salt-forming reaction, and finally removing water to obtain melamine bis(pentaerythrit phosphate)phosphoric acid salt. In the above method, although diphsophorus pentaoxide is used as a raw material, it is unnecessary to recover trichlorophosphoric acid due to no formation of a hydrogen chloride gas and since it is unnecessary to perform the esterification reaction in the presence of an organic solvent, the esterification reaction time can be shortened, and the danger of causing an explosion due to high pressures created within a sealed reaction system can be avoided.
