FUME EXTRACTION APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR EXTRACTING FUMES ASSOCIATED WITH ROLL COATING MACHINES

A fume extraction apparatus is described. The fume extraction apparatus is suitable for use with a roll coating machine for coating one or more sides of a passing coil and includes one or more fume extraction heads for receiving fumes, each of the one or more fume extraction heads being configured to be in fluid communication with a respective duct or duct assembly, the or each duct or duct assembly being configured when in use to direct the fumes towards an interior position within the roll coating apparatus. Also, a roll coating machine is described. The roll coating machine in use coats a passing coil and includes a fume extraction apparatus comprising one or more fume extraction heads configured to be in fluid communication with a duct so as to direct fumes towards a position within the roll coating apparatus. Finally, a method of extracting fumes from a roll coating machine is described which includes the steps of drawing fumes associated with the roll coating machine towards an interior position within the roll coating apparatus.
