<p>Provided is a liquid crystal display device wherein the driving frequency of a fluorescent lamp to be a light source of backlight can be set at a suitable value depending on a frame rate. A liquid crystal display device provided with a liquid crystal display panel (1) and a backlight apparatus (10) is used. The liquid crystal display panel (1) is provided with an active matrix substrate (2), a facing substrate (3), a liquid crystal layer, a gate driver (4) and a data driver (6). When a gate start pulse (GSP) is inputted, the gate driver (4) selects each of active elements arranged in a horizontal direction, and the data driver (6) inputs data to the selected active element. In the backlight apparatus (10), a frame rate detecting section (13) detects a frame rate from the GSP. An inverter driving section (14) outputs a driving pulse of a frequency which is set based on the frame rate to a fluorescent lamp (11).</p> |
