<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic used paper collecting device having a used paper storage means simply constructed to be highly reliable over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: The used paper collecting device 1 comprises a lifter body 21, a guide rail 22, a lifting member 23, and a drive mechanism 24. The lifter body 21 is box-shaped and elevatable in a housing 4 in the state of being loaded with bunched used paper 3. It has a guide 51 at a lower end 45 on the side of a used paper storage part. The guide rail 22 guides the guide 51 along the vertical direction and has a stopper 59 for stopping the upward movement of the guide 51.
