PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently back up content data of various data qualities. SOLUTION: In the system, backup data of highest quality for each piece of music is stored in a backup data storage part of a backup device in association with music identification information MID, device identification information SID and backup information BUR of data to be backed up are received from a backup request device, and the device identification information SID is stored in the backup information storage part in association with the backup information BUR, whereby the backup device functions to store a plurality of backup data differed in data quality for each piece of music only by storing one piece of backup data stored for each piece of music together with the backup information BUR.
