摘要 A hard disk drive, a method for controlling the flying height of a magnetic head thereof, and recording media for computer program for the method are provided to effectively compensate the flying height of the magnetic head affected by temperature, moisture and height. A method for controlling the flying height of a magnetic head of a hard disk drive, in which one end of the magnetic head is thermally expanded and protruded as FOD(Flying On Demand) power is applied to a heater equipped on the magnetic head, comprises the steps of: calculating compensation FOD power to compensate the difference between the flying height of the magnetic head which is measured by applying burn-in FOD power corresponding to the target flying height and the burn-in flying height corresponding to the burn-in FOD power, on a reference FOD power profile in which the relation between a first signal for calculating the FOD power and a second signal for calculating the flying height of the magnetic head, exceeds a preset reference value(S10,S20); and applying burn-in FOD power which is compensated with the compensation FOD power in order to control the flying height of the magnetic head(S30).
