<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently realize desorption of a component from an adsorbing means adsorbing the predetermined component included in exhaust gas and purification of the desorbed component, even when an internal combustion engine is stopped, in an exhaust emission control device of the internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device has a main exhaust passage 42 and a bypass passage 46 bypassing the main exhaust passage 42, and has an exhaust switching valve 50 capable of switching an inflow destination of the exhaust gas between the main exhaust passage 42 and the bypass passage 46, and has an adsorbent 52 in the bypass passage 46 for adsorbing the predetermined component included in the exhaust gas, and has an underfloor catalyst 56 including a catalyst EHC 58 with an electric heater in the main exhaust passage 42 on the downstream side of the bypass passage 46, and has a pump 68 and a heater 70 in an atmospheric supply passage 66 arranged by branching off from the bypass passage 46 on the upstream side of the adsorbent 52. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
