PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a blade from coming into a slide contact with a cleaning sheet, thereby maintaining a high cleaning performance. SOLUTION: This liquid jet device comprises a moving member 5 provided with an ejection head 3 having an ejection face, a wiping member 34 capable of slidably contacting the ejection face and a catcher member 41 for receiving ejected liquid, and is displaced between a closing position facing the ejection face and an opening position away from the ejection face. The liquid jet device further comprises a frame 102 on which a cleaning member 103 for cleaning the wiping member 34 is provided to be supported thereby over an area from a sliding contact position where the cleaning member 103 faces a moving path of the moving member 5 to a retracting position where the cleaning member 103 is away from the moving path. The liquid jet device yet further comprises a cum member 120 capable of moving the frame 102 to the retracting position by abutting the moving member 5 which is moved to the opening position from the closing position, or moving the frame 102 to the sliding contact position by abutting the moving member 5 which is moved to the closing position from the opening position.
