PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a calculation time required for positioning while maintaining precision and efficiency of the positioning between shapes shown by predetermined information. SOLUTION: In matching between a first three-dimensional shape shown by first information and a second three-dimensional shape shown by second information, input of the first information and the second information is received. Then, a plurality of reference points are set on the first three-dimensional shape. As to each of a plurality of set reference points, a corresponding point at the shortest distance from the reference point is found from a limited area on the second three-dimensional shape. When the first information is converted based on positional relationships between a plurality of set reference points and the found corresponding points, matching between the first and second shapes is carried out.
