PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for an electrophotographic developer which can achieve higher image quality and full colorization and suppresses carrier scattering; to provide a method for manufacturing the carrier; and to provide an electrophotographic developer containing the carrier. SOLUTION: The carrier core material for an electrophotographic developer which is represented by the general formula of Mg<SB>x</SB>Mn<SB>(1-x)</SB>Fe<SB>y</SB>O<SB>4</SB>(wherein 0<x<1 and 1.6≤y≤2.4) and in which the half-value width B of a peak having a maximum intensity in an XRD pattern satisfies B≤0.180 (degree) is manufactured, and the carrier for an electrophotographic developer and the electrophotographic developer are manufactured from the carrier core material for an electrophotographic developer.
