PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion valve having a body with a large effect in saving material cost by hollow extrusion. SOLUTION: Material for forming the body of the expansion valve is shaped to comprise a cylindrical part 1 with almost circular end face shape, and a strip joint part 2 integrally formed at the side face of the cylindrical part 1, wherein a longitudinal center passage 4 passing through the center of the cylindrical part 1, and a peripheral passage 5 arranged around the center passage 4 excluding the side of the strip joint part 2, are formed by hollow extrusion. Such a hollow extrusion molded material has a power element mounting hole formed in one longitudinal end face, and a double pipe structure formed in the other end face so that the double pipe can be connected. A pipe connection hole communicating with the center passage 4, and a pipe connection hole communicating with the peripheral passage 5 are formed in the strip joint part 2, and a valve seat and a valve element are arranged in the center passage 4 to constitute a valve part.
