PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vaporization filter capable of being promptly dried during operation stop, preventing dirt, bacteria, mold, etc. from entering to inside of the vaporization filter, easily removing dirt by cleaning and being kept clean, in the vaporization filter in a humidifier for performing humidification by vaporizing water. SOLUTION: The humidifier 11 is provided with the vaporization filter 12 having air gaps through which air can pass, a water tank 14 for supplying water 17 to the vaporization filter 12 and a fan 13 for sending air to the vaporization filter 12, and hydrophobic processing is applied to the vaporization filter 12. Since the humidifier 11 prevents entry of water to inside of the vaporization filter 12 and dirt and propagation of bacteria inside the vaporization filter 12, the humidifier 11 can be easily cleaned and kept clean. Since water repels from the vaporization filter 12 due to application of the hydrophobic processing, prompt drying is achieved after humidifying operation is stopped, and propagation of bacteria on the vaporization filter 12 can be prevented.
