PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal organ contour extraction method by which an internal organ contour is correctly extracted without deteriorating efficiency of processing of extracting the internal organ contour in each of cross-sectional images continuous with each other in terms of position. SOLUTION: The internal organ contour in the first tomographic image is extracted by an optional method. Then, many candidate contour parts Rn(1)-Rn(v) to be the candidate of each contour part forming a part of the contour of the internal organ 1A are detected by edge detection in the N-th tomographic image Gn. The extracted contour Rn-1 of the internal organ 1A in the N-1-th tomographic image Gn-1 is deformed or moved while keeping the shape. Then, the contour, including the plurality of candidate contour parts Rn(3), Rn(5), Rn(6), ... substantially coincident with the contour which has been deformed or moved while keeping the shape, among the many candidate contour parts Rn(1)-Rn(v), is extracted as the contour Rn of the internal organ 1A in the N-th image.
