An LCD is provided to reduce the color differences by the viewing angles by compensating wavelength dispersion with a compensation film installed between thin film transistor substrate and lower polarizing plate. A liquid crystal panel(102) comprises has a liquid crystal layer(104), and a thin film transistor substrate(108) facing a color filter substrate(118) having the liquid crystal layer in the middle. A lower polarizing plate(124) is arranged in the lower part of the thin film transistor substrate. An upper polarizing plate(132) is arranged on the upper part of the color filter substrate. A compensation film(140) is positioned between the thin film transistor substrate and lower polarizing plate, and compensates the wavelength dispersion of the light passing through the liquid crystal layer. |
