A method and an apparatus for managing power of a grounded client PC in an IP address-based remote-controlling system are provided to group and manage the PC power of plural clients from a remote host sever according to reference guidance. A host sever comprises a grouping unit(101), a storage unit(102) and a transmitting unit(103). The grouping unit classifies at least more than one client PC(Personal Computer) into groups of which power is managed. The storage unit stores the grouping results. The transmitting unit transmits a signal, which includes the information recognizing whether the power is turned on or off by group, to the client PCs which belong to the classified groups.
