A method for editing a moving picture file list is provided to enable the user to play the desired moving picture easily by grasping the contents of moving picture files through the file list. A method for editing a moving picture file list includes the steps of: displaying a moving picture file list stored in a storage part(S210); determining whether a selection signal for a certain moving picture file in the displayed file list is input(S220); determining whether the selected moving picture file is set with resume play if the selection signal is input(S230); playing the moving picture file according to the resume play setting if the moving picture file is set with resume play(S240); and displaying a thumbnail image created through the play step(S240) on the moving picture file list(S250).
