A display device having an image sensor and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce noise by maintaining electric charge of a storage capacitor of the image sensor element steadily. A display device contains an image sensor including an image sensing element and a switching element. The image sensor has a pixel electrode(154), an insulating layer, and a common electrode(121). The pixel electrode is formed on the source electrode of the image sensing element. A protective insulator film(160) is formed on the pixel electrode. The common electrode is formed on the protective insulator film.
