<p>An optical pickup (4) device has: a light source (21); an objective lens (27) that condenses laser light emitted from the light source (21) on a recording layer (20a) of an optical disc (20); and a movable lens (23) that is disposed between the light source (21) and the objective lens (27) and that is movable along the optical axis. The movable lens (23) is moved to correct for spherical aberration. Between the light source (21) and the objective lens (27), a RIM intensity adjusting element (26) is also disposed that adjusts the RIM intensity by changing the range within which, as the movable lens (23) is moved, the intensity of the laser light incident on the objective lens (27) can be varied.</p> |
