Manufacture of intaglio printing formes

The method involves attaching a metallic outer layer on a base body (5) using a powder-based spray process such as cool gas-spray process, where the outer layer consists of zinc or zinc alloy. Metallic particulate material (4.2) in the form of powder can be rushed through process gas at a supersonic speed and can be sprayed on the base body, during the spray process, where the process gas is nitrogen and/or helium. The particulate material consists of powder particles, each with a grain size of 5-10 micrometers. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing a lift cylinder (2) a gravure printing form comprising a base body and a metallic outer layer.
