Method and device for handling strip-like workpieces

The method involves feeding a strip-like workpiece (1) i.e. tire sidewall strip, to a transfer drum (6) before the separation of the strip-like workpiece from a strand (2) and fixing the strip-like workpiece on an outer periphery (13) of the transfer drum. The workpiece is separated from the strand after the fixing of the workpiece in the region of the transfer drum. The workpiece is led from the transfer drum to a processing drum (11) and fixed on the processing drum. The strand is transported in the direction of the transfer drum by a feeding device (3). An independent claim is also included for a device for handling a strip-like workpiece, comprising a feeding device.
