A socket for connecting pipes and air conditioner equipped with the same is provided to adjust easily the length of the pipes connected to each other by fitting them into the diffused portions. A socket for connecting pipes of different diameter and air conditioner equipped with the same comprises a socket for connecting pipes of different diameter and air conditioner equipped with the same comprises a tubular pipe connecting socket(5) for the connection of a first and second pipes(3,4); a first and second expanded portions(5b,5c) on both ends respectively; and a main connecting portion(5a) formed between the first and second expanded portions. One end of the first and second pipes is fitted into each first and second expanded portions. The main connecting part has the same inner diameter as the first and second pipes.
