A shock absorber having a dust seal is provided to prevent entering of foreign matters into a cylinder by fixing the dust seal at an upper part of a rod guide and sticking a rubber extension unit of the dust seal to an outer periphery surface of a piston rod. A shock absorber comprises a cylinder, a piston valve, a piston rod, a rod guide, and a dust seal(20). The dust seal has a washer unit(21) and an extension unit(22). The washer unit has a hole at a center where the piston rod is inserted. The extension unit extends upward from the hole of the washer unit and is fitted to the piston rod.
