METHOD FOR UPGRADING SOFTWARE OF AUDIO/VIDEO DEVICE

A method of upgrading software of an audio/video device is provided to allow a user to connect the audio/video with a host device through a communication cable to upgrade a changed audio/video device by performing software upgrading through software of the audio/video device from the host device in the audio/video device when transmitting the software of the audio/video device stored in a storage medium. A method of upgrading software of an audio/video device includes the steps of: setting a preparatory consumer electronics control local address in a header address of a data block transmitting software of an AV device by a host device as a upgrade exclusive address when the AV device connects with the host device through a communication cable(S10,S12); transmitting the software of the AV device stored in a storage medium through the set upgrade exclusive address(S14); and executing a software upgrade operation through the software of the AV device received from the host device by the AV device(S16).
