摘要 [PROBLEMS] To provide a technique of allowing a mobile robot to recognize the whole environment at all times without any unknown environment caused when a part of the robot such as connection portion enters the field of view while the robot is moving by providing another camera to a connection portion connected to the body through a joint separately from the camera provided to the body. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A robot comprises a body composed of a head and a trunk, at least one connection portion connected to the body through a driven shoulder joint, at least one body camera provided to the body, and at least one connection portion camera provided to the connection portion. The robot further comprises combined image creating means for combining the body-side image captured by the body camera and the connection portion-side image captured by the connection portion camera to create a combined image and recognizing means for recognizing the position of an object in the surrounding area from the combined image.
