<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a recording power for achieving recording of the whole recording area of a recording medium which has two or more recording layers with the optimum recording power. <P>SOLUTION: The method for determining the recording power determines the recording power by assuming a learning result at a position (A) where learning of the recording power of the first layer L0 is conducted is P1_in, the thickness of a reflective layer at the position (A) where learning of the recording power of the first layer L0 is conducted is d1_in, the thickness of the reflective layer at a position (B) where recording of the first layer L0 is started is d1_wt, and calculating the recording power P1_wt for starting subsequent recording of the first layer L0, and by using an equation P1_wt=P1_in×(d1_in/d1_wt), when additionally recording the first layer of a two-layer medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
