<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus for removing any dark current noise regardless of the temperature change of an image pickup element without reducing a valid exposure time even by using a highly sensitive image pickup element. <P>SOLUTION: This endoscope apparatus is provided with an endoscope equipped with a slender insertion section which can be inserted into a living body; a light source means for emitting the rays of light for illuminating an object; a storage means for storing information relating with a reference noise pattern under reference conditions under which an image pickup element is driven; a temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the image pickup element or the peripheral temperature of the image pickup element; a noise calculation means for carrying out temperature correction from the temperature information acquired by the temperature detection means and the information relating with the reference noise pattern under the reference conditions, and for calculating a noise pattern under image pickup conditions; and a noise removing means for removing the noise pattern from the image signal acquired by the image pickup element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
