<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of forming images in proper setting according to the option or the performance of the image forming device even without changing printing data. <P>SOLUTION: (A) is an example of the printing data depicted using PJL and PCL and is constituted of a PJL part beginning with "ÐPJL..." and a PCL (PDL) part shown by "&u..." for example. A set file depicting the rule shown in (B) is written in a USB memory adding to the printing data. The set file shows to eliminate an item of JOBNAME in the depicting section by the PJL, to replace all media types to REGULAR in the depicting section by the PJL, to replace font of "CG Times" to "Arai" in the depicting section by the PJL, and to replace A4 without margin to A4 with margin in the depicting section by PS.
