PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of precisely diagnosing the life of a component and quickly diagnosing the life of a member exposed to a high temperature condition, according to the degree of creep damage estimated probabilistically. SOLUTION: In the method of diagnosing the life of the member, data of the time (t) in service of the member used at a high temperature and the hardness H at that time is built for the member, the relation of the time (t) and hardness H is approximated using a primary approximate expression from the built data, the hardness is estimated by applying probability theory-statistics processing to this approximate expression, the hardness H is estimated using the expression by applying probability theory-statistics processing to this approximate expression, and the degree of the creep damage is estimated based on the estimated hardness.
