ARRIVAL DIRECTION ESTIMATING DEVICE AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION APPARATUS EMPLOYING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arrival direction estimating device capable of estimating an arrival direction of an arriving wave with accuracy higher than that of an antenna pattern table. SOLUTION: A replica signal generating section 105 and a propagation parameter estimating section 106 are configured to repeatedly estimate the propagation parameter of the arrival wave which arrives at an array antenna 101, at the same resolution as an angle step of the antenna pattern table. If the propagation parameter is converged, the replica signal generating section 105 and the propagation parameter estimating section 106 output the converged propagation parameter to an angle high-resolution processing section 108 through a convergence determining section 107. The angle high-resolution processing section 108 estimates the arrival direction of the arriving wave at the resolution higher than that of the angle step of the antenna pattern table by using the converged propagation parameter.
