PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitor system and a center device which can safely and easily register an authentication key in a center device without increasing a processing burden in a communication device. SOLUTION: Raw data stored in a storage section 2 are transmitted by a data transmitter 1 from the communication device An to the center device S via a network to generate the authentication key by an authentication key generating section 12 with raw data defined as an input value and then the authentication key is registered in a registration section 13. An authentication key preliminarily assigned to the communication device An and an authentication key generated in the authentication key generating section 12 of the center device S are generated from the same raw data and by the same function and therefore their identities are ensured. In addition, the authentication key may be preliminarily stored in the storage section 2 of the communication device An at the time of its factory shipment. By this, in order to generate the authentication key as generated conventionally, the authentication key can be safely and easily registered in the center device S without increasing the processing burden in the communication device An.
