PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery having high connection strength to a connection tab of an electrode plate and reducing breakage of the electrode plate and coming off from the connection tab when dropped, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: An electrode group 10 of the battery 1 is formed by winding a negative electrode plate 11 and a positive electrode plate 13 through a separator 12 so as to become an ellipse as viewed from the side and housing in a thin rectangular parallelepiped case 8. A negative electrode connection end part 14 and a positive electrode connection end part 15 are projected to the end parts of the negative electrode plate 11 and the positive electrode plate 13. The negative electrode connection end part 14 and the positive electrode connection end part 15 have a bent part 14a and a bent part 15a at the end parts to form double structure. The doubled negative electrode connection end and the doubled positive electrode connection end part 15 are overlapped on a first connection tab 5 and a second connection tab 7, perforated to form folding back pieces, and each end is fixed to each connection tab with each folding back piece.
