PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument for inserting a flexible intraocular lens or other flexible membrane into an eye in a controlled state. SOLUTION: The instrument is for inserting a lens into an eye. The lens includes an optic, a leading loop haptic 16a and a trailing loop haptic. The instrument is provided with a tubular member including a route for leading the lens into the eye, and a haptic guide 125 movable inside the route for partially straightening the leading haptic 16a in the direction of advancement of the lens 12.
