PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furnace dismantling method and a furnace dismantling machine capable of scraping out crushed refractory without needing man-powered work and heavy-machinery work. SOLUTION: This dismantling machine 1 comprises a running carrier 3, a tilting boom 41 tiltably disposed on the running carrier 3, a rotary boom 42, a telescopic boom 43, an oscillating arm 6 tiltably disposed on a tip of the telescopic boom 43, an air cylinder 12 disposed on the oscillating arm 6, and a crushing tool mounting/demounting means (not shown in drawing) disposed on the air cylinder 12. This furnace dismantling method comprises a process for mounting an air breaker (not shown in drawing) on the crushing tool mounting/demounting means, and crushing the refractory 120 by repeatedly intermittently supplying the compressed air to the air cylinder 12, and a process for mounting a scraper 130 on the crushing tool mounting/demounting means in replacement of the air breaker, moving the telescopic boom 41 and the running carrier 3 forward and backward, and scraping out the crushed refractory 121.
