PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve optimal information for learning a teaching material from the question content of a learner on the teaching material. SOLUTION: This information retrieval device 1 for retrieving the information for acquiring an answer to a question from a question sentence on predetermined first information acquired from a server; reads the question sentence (S11); extracts a first keyword by analyzing a morpheme (S12); reads a document of the first information; extracts a second keyword by analyzing the morpheme; executes weighting processing on the second keyword; determines a weight value of indicating significance of the respective second keywords; selects a keyword of high significance from the weight value: sets the selected keyword to an important keyword; generates a retrieval expression from a combination of the first keyword and the important keyword (S13); and outputs the document (a WEB page) for acquiring the answer to the question by the generated retrieval expression (S14).
