A METHOD FOR GRANTING A PRIORITY TO A PACKET OF SPECIFIC SERVICE IN EV-DO SYSTEM

A method for granting priority for packets of a specific service in an EV-DO(Evolution Data Only) system is provided to improve QoS(Quality of Service) in providing a specific service by transmitting DRC(Data Rate Control) values of a specific pattern in case a mobile terminal drives a specific application. In case a mobile terminal accesses an EV-DO system while driving a specific application which requires real-time data transmission and reception without any delay(S110,S120), the mobile terminal transmits DRC values of a specific pattern during a certain time(S130). After the certain time, the mobile terminal measures the C/I(Carrier to Interference) value of a forward link pilot and transmits DRC values on the basis of the measured C/I value(S140).
