A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce a manufacturing cost of the plasma display device by decreasing the number of transistors for driving scan electrodes. A plasma display device includes scan electrodes, a scan IC(411), a capacitor(CscH), and a first transistor(Yg). The scan IC includes first and second input terminals and an output terminal, which is connected to the scan electrodes. The scan IC outputs voltages from the first and second input terminals through the output terminal. The capacitor is charged at a first voltage and includes a first terminal connected to the first input terminal, and a second terminal connected to the second input terminal. The first transistor is connected between the first terminal of the capacitor and a first voltage source which supplies a second voltage. The second voltage is lower than the first voltage. During an address period, the first transistor is turned on. During the address period, the scan IC outputs the second terminal voltage of the capacitor to the selected scan electrode. The scan IC outputs the first terminal voltage from the capacitor to non-selected scan electrodes.
