<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vein authentication device for authentication of veins on the palm and fingers, achieving low cost and smaller occupied space. <P>SOLUTION: In the vein authentication device 10, a vertical plate 5 fixes fingers on the right and left of a subject finger to be imaged in finger vein imaging. The vertical plate 5 is used as a palm rest in palm vein imaging. A support base 6 supports a fingertip rest 9 in finger vein imaging, and it houses a light emitting element 3 for finger vein imaging. The support base 6 has a function of a palm rest in palm vein imaging. A finger detecting sensor 7 detects contact of a finger in finger vein imaging. A palm detecting sensor 8 detects contact of the palm in palm vein imaging. The fingertip rest 9 is used for a fingertip to be placed in finger vein imaging. The tip of the subject finger to be imaged is placed on the fingertip rest 9 to hold the vertical plate 5 with fingers. The vertical plate 5 and the support base 6 are used as a palm rest in palm vein imaging.
