PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high output semiconductor light-emitting device exhibiting excellent thermal resistance and good environmental resistance and UV-ray resistance.

SOLUTION: The semiconductor light-emitting device comprises a semiconductor light-emitting element (10), and a sealant (5) of a light permeable inorganic material provided on the semiconductor light-emitting element and containing a phosphor (6) and 25 wt.% or less of an inorganic filler having an average particle size of 0.001-1 μm.
