<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacked piezoelectric device which exerts excellent durability even under a severe condition that carries out long time continuous drive at high pressure, high voltage. <P>SOLUTION: The stacked piezoelectric device includes: a stacked body including an active region which is constituted by stacking a plurality of piezoelectric layers through internal electrodes, extending/contracting in response to a voltage applied to the piezoelectric layers in a drive region sandwiched between adjacent internal electrodes and a non-drive region which is constituted by including at least two piezoelectric layers and a metal layers arranged between the piezoelectric layers and which is provided in the end portion in the stacked direction of the active region; and a first external electrode and a second external electrode to which the internal electrodes are connected alternately, being provided in the side of the stacked body, wherein the metal layer is formed so as to be a potential identical with the internal electrodes facing adjacently, and when the drive region is projected on the metal layer surface in the stacked direction, the projection is in the formation region of the metal layer surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
